  3. R.O. Membranes reject a wide range of contaminants, including TDS, bacteria, and viruses down to 0.0001 micron.
  4. Depending on the feed quality, a RO is usually preceded by a Micron Filter and other filters such as a Multi Graded Sand Filter, an Activated Carbon Filter, and so on.
  5. Works on the reverse osmosis principle, which is a membrane filtering method.
  6. Osmosis is the unidirectional movement of solvent molecules from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated solution via a semipermeable membrane.
  7. The pressure imposed by solution that simply prohibits solvent flow into solution through a semipermeable membrane is referred to as osmotic pressure of solution.
  8. An applied pressure is employed in reverse osmosis to overcome osmotic pressure, forcing water molecules to pass through the membrane and trapping bigger molecules.
