WORKING PRINCIPLE OF SOFTENER WATER TREATMENT EQUIPMENT
The principle of magnesium formation and sodium ion exchange softening treatment is to pass raw water through a sodium-type cation exchange resin to create the hardness components Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ in the water, as calcium and magnesium are the primary components that form and express water hardness. Adsorbing Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ from the water through exchange with the Na⁺ in the resin softens it. The resin needs to be renewed after absorbing a specific quantity of calcium and magnesium ions. In order to replenish the hardness ions on the resin, the regeneration process involves using a salt box to rinse the resin layer with salt water. The resin resumes its softening exchange function after the regeneration waste liquid is released from the tank.
