Total phosphorus refers to the sum of particles and dissolved organic phosphorus and inorganic phosphorus in water, and total phosphorus reflects the degree of phosphorus pollution in water.

The increase of phosphorus content in the water body will cause eutrophication, resulting in the occurrence of algal blooms or red tides, which will seriously affect the water quality.
