Stearic acid, an ingredient used in plastic composites, is coated on the GCC (above). CaCO₃ improves surface finish by lowering surface energy and adding opacity and gloss. Additionally, CaCO₃ aids in enhancing impact strength and flexural modulus (stiffness) when the particle size is properly regulated.
