A system known as a "mixed bed" is one in which water sequentially flows between an anion bed filled with hydroxide-type anion exchange resin and a cation bed filled with hydrogen-type cation exchange resin. Water cations can be eliminated using the hydrogen-type cation exchange bed, while anions can be eliminated using the hydroxide-type anion exchange bed. Refilling the bed is essentially the same as eliminating the mineral salts in the water. Strong acid cation exchange resin is often injected into the anode bed, and strong alkali anion exchange resin is typically loaded into the anion bed to improve the desalination effect. Additionally, there are two types of mixed beds: external regenerative mixed beds and internal synchronous regenerative mixed beds.
Both composition and execution
Fiberglass, plexiglass, stainless steel, carbon steel, anti-corrosion, etc. are used to make the mixed bed shell. The outside has a cylindrical shape, with a diameter of between 200 and 2500 mm and a water production capacity ranging from 0.5 to 98 tons per hour. Strong acid cation exchange resin is placed into the anode bed, and strong alkali anion exchange resin is loaded into the anion bed. There is usually a loading height of between 1000 and 2400 mm. The little filter cap-style equipment has no support layer at the bottom. The organic glass column operates at a pressure of ≤ 0.15 MPa. Tools composed of different materials 0.6 MPa is the operating pressure. An anode bed has an alkali tank and an alkali pump regeneration system in addition to an acid tank and an acid pump regeneration system.

Benefits of Mixed Bed Device
1. The pH of the effluent water is almost neutral, and the quality of the wastewater is outstanding.
2. Short-term variations in operating parameters (inlet water quality or composition, operating flow rate, etc.) have minimal effect on the mixed bed effluent water quality since the effluent water quality is steady.
3. The effluent water quality is not significantly affected by intermittent operation, and it takes very little time to return the water quality to its pre-shutdown level.
4. The percentage of recovery is 100%.
