DDBAC/BKC Applications:

  1. A common bacteriostatic algaecide, benzoalkonium chloride, is used to disinfect medical equipment and circulate cooling water in factories, power plants, paper mills, and oilfield oil well injection systems. 
  2. It is also used in swimming pools, laundromats, and public areas for sanitary purposes, disinfecting washing machines, and cleaning food industry equipment. 
  3. Although it can work in concert with other bactericides such as isothiazolinone, glutaraldehyde, dithiocyanomethane, and others, benzoalkonium chloride is incompatible with chlorophenol agents. 
  4. It also acts as a leveling agent when acrylic fibers are dyed cationically.



DDBAC/BKC Characteristics:

  1. One type of cationic surfactant that is a member of the nonoxidizing boicide family is benzoalkonium chloride. 
  2. It effectively prevents the growth of algae and the reproduction of sludge. 
  3. Along with its dispersing and penetrating qualities, benzoalkonium chloride may also penetrate and remove algae and sludge. 
  4. Its benefits include low toxicity, no toxicity buildup, water solubility, ease of use, and resistance to water hardness. 
  5. In the domains of weaving and dyeing, benzoalkonium chloride can also be utilized as an emulsifying agent, anti-mildew agent, antistatic agent, and amendment agent.
