When linking DI pipes or pipes made of various materials but with the same exterior diameter, straight couplings are utilized. Between two end rings is a middle sleeve that is part of the GCF connection. The sleeve and end rings are separated by wedge-shaped elastomeric gaskets. An efficient, leak-proof seal is formed on the pipe's surface when the tie bars are tightened because the end rings are brought together and compressed, squeezing the gaskets between them and the middle sleeve. There is a wide variety available to be used with spigots on Ductile Iron Pipes, ranging from DN80 to DN2600.
