A membrane column is created by stacking the reverse osmosis membrane and hydrofoil together, fixing the end plate and center rod, and then placing the assembly in a pressure casing. DTRO makes the leachate treatment system easier to plug, more stable, and less expensive to operate than the standard reverse osmosis system. a three-year maximum lifespan for DT membrane columns.

Applications for DTRO:
  1. Water treatment using leachate
  2. Pharmaceutical sector wastewater treatment API, formulation plant, and mixed effluent
  3. Selection and handling of greasy waste in the steel sector.
  4. Recycle waste from metal recovery.
  5. Recycling and treatment of tanning wastewater.
  6. Treatment of high cod/bod waste water.
  7. Recovery and recycling of backwash.
  8. Handling and recycling of landfill leachate processing of textile and dye industry wastewater.
  9. Treatment of combined and common wastewater.
  10. Reusing used laundry and utilizing biotechnology.
  11. Rejection processing in the spiral RO facility.
  12. Recycling of waste from DM plants.
  13. Recycling wastewater containing hazardous chemicals.

Benefits of DTRO:

  1. Reduced membrane scaling and fouling: To reduce concentration polarization and physical flow obstructions, the DTRO system makes advantage of short feed flow paths and high packing densities. Thus, excellent energy efficiency is maintained while scaling and fouling are decreased.
  2. Extended Membrane life: Disc Type Reverse Osmosis ('DTRO') membranes have a longer lifespan than spiral wrapped membranes because of a lower fouling and scaling rate.
  3. Top Technology for Applications
Using Waste Water and Effluent: Because the DTRO membranes can withstand high BOD/COD concentrations and high DTI limits, the system can function with very little pre-treatment.
  4. Cost savings on membrane replacement: Spiral wound membranes are sealed, requiring total element replacement.  Membranes for Disc Type Reverse Osmosis, or "DTRO," can be changed individually to save money.
  5. Simple access to all membranes: The DTRO system is simple to open and close for maintenance, repair, and other purposes.
