Chelating resin is a type of crosslinking functional polymer that can create several coordination complexes with metal ions. Metal ion adsorption via chelating resins occurs when functional atoms on the resin coordinate with metal ions to form a stable structure comparable to small molecule chelates, whereas ion exchange resin adsorption occurs through electrostatic action. As a result, when compared to ion-exchange resins, chelating resins have a higher binding force and selectivity for metal ions. As countries' environmental protection rules get more stringent, so do their wastewater discharge standards. Metal ions are one of the key emission standards. The chelating resin may remove ions from water, including nickel, copper, mercury, boron, arsenic, zinc, and recover valuable metals like gold, silver, palladium, platinum, and silver, allowing for resource reuse.

Typical applications of Chelating Resin

  1. Ionic membrane caustic soda secondary brine refining (calcium and magnesium removal).
  2. Removal of arsenic and boron from industrial water and groundwater.
  3. Precious metal recovery.
  4. Heavy metal removal (including copper, nickel, mercury, and zinc).
  5. Remove nitrates and perchlorates from drinking water.
  6. Fluoride and phosphorus removal from groundwater.
