The electromagnetic flow meter is one of the most versatile and widely used flow measurement technologies available. It is a volumetric flow meter with no moving components that is suitable for waste water applications or any unclean liquid that is conductive or water based. Electromagnetic flow meters are also suitable for applications requiring low pressure drop and low maintenance.
Working Principle
A voltage is induced in a conductor moving through a magnetic field according to Faraday's law of magnetic induction. The moving conductor is the medium used in the electromagnetic measuring principle. The induced voltage is proportional to flow velocity and is provided to the amplifier via two measurement electrodes. Flow volume is determined using the cross section area of the pipe.
