Filtralite® Pure & Clean filter media, with its distinct porosity, provides the ideal conditions for water to pass through the filter bed in order to retain and absorb more pollutants. Filtralite® Pure & Clean filter media is a new, high-quality filtering product designed to meet the demands of the future, just as cities are preparing for them.
Numerous water treatment applications, including the treatment of drinking water, wastewater, desalination and effluent water treated on-site, employ filter medium made of cellulose.

Investigation and Creation
Close collaboration is maintained in the development of Filtralite® filter media with academic institutions  in Norway and around the world. Numerous master's and doctorate theses, studies, and articles have been written on various facets of using Filtralite® to clean wastewater and drinking water.

Characteristics
Clay is burned at a temperature of approximately 1200 degrees Celsius to create expanded clay pellets, which are then crushed and sieved to create filter media known as Filtralite®. Crushing the material reveals a significant amount of its porous nature. The aggregate size range is 0–20 mm, and the dry particle densities are 500–900 kg/m2. Flexible, "tailor-made" materials for certain uses are available in Filtralite®. No hazardous chemicals are released by the aggregates. Filtralite® exhibits strong resistance to impact and abrasion despite its large porosity and low density.
