New technologies for aquatic environments
Installing photovoltaic solar panels atop floating structures that are anchored or moored to the water floor of lakes, reservoirs, dams, or oceans is known as floating solar power, or floating photovoltaic power plants. Photovoltaic solar panels are made specifically to survive in watery environments.

In addition to providing environmental performance, floating solar power plants have the following benefits:

Conserving water. In arid or drought-prone areas, floating solar panels can help lower evaporation by partially covering the water's surface.
Improved control of algae growth as a result of water surface coverage, which lowers solar penetration and maintains water quality.
