Using a proprietary recipe, CRM ceramic membrane is created from high-purity oxides such as Al2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, and other composite materials. The material is combined, heated to a temperature above 1700°C, and then burned in a furnace. The ceramic membrane has an asymmetric porous multilayer structure with a tubular multi-channel appearance. It consists of porous support base, intermediate layer, and active membrane layers that are layered from the outside in. TANGENT is able to create extremely thin active layers with pore sizes as small as nanometers or even molecules by employing a unique recipe. This will open up the option of liquid-liquid or solid-liquid separation with fine filtering. CRM ceramic membranes work on the basis of dynamic "cross-flow filtration," which is caused by internal pressure moving from the inside out. A high linear speed is used to pump the raw liquid into the membrane element. Water, dissolved substances, and solvents flow through the membrane layer to create a transparent, clear filtrate known as permeabilate.
The active membrane layer rejects insoluble suspended debris, bacteria, oil, and macromolecular components, resulting in the formation of a concentrated liquid known as retinate or concentrate. From the opposite end of the channel, the retentate emerges and circulates within the element.Unlike centrifuges or filter presses, which are examples of traditional filtration procedures, humans can get incredibly exact filtration precision by utilizing ceramic membranes with varying pore sizes. The extremely high filtration precision in the clarification step will be very beneficial for post-treatment following ceramic membrane in industrial applications. Additionally, the highly stable oxides used to make CRM ceramic membranes have outstanding chemical stability. In the process industry, ceramic membranes are a viable choice for extremely precise separation of complicated fluids in challenging environments.
It is difficult for the fluid to build up on the filter layer's surface and form a thick filter cake because it flows on the microporous membrane layer at a high linear speed. Low filtration resistance and simple regeneration allow for long-term stability of filtration flux. For contemporary businesses, ceramic membranes have shown to be a dependable, affordable, and environmentally friendly separation technique.
