Description and Use of FuelSolv FMG2960
FuelSolv FMG2960 is highly concentrated oil based liquid additive that contains a proprietary blend of metallic based deposit inhibitors. Its primary use is to address slagging in the radiant section of coal and solid fuel fired boilers.
FMG2960 works by promoting crystallization and increasing the viscosity at the surface layer of ash particles. It also increases porosity in the ash and reduces sintering strength. The net result is decreased deposit formation and reduced cohesive strength. When cohesive strength is reduced, the ash becomes more friable, and easily removed by soot blowing.

Typical Applications of FuelSolv FMG2960

For a typical coal-fired application, the product is stored in an agitated 400-gal base tote and fed to the coal belt during bunkering. An air-operated diaphragm pump transfers the product from the shipping tote to the base tote. Peristaltic feed pumps transfers material from the base tote to the process.
FuelSolv FMG2960 is usually added to the fuel on the conveyer belt and should be fed in such a way that it is well mixed throughout the fuel. Specific problem areas in a furnace can sometimes be targeted by injecting this product to select coal feeders.
