Operation:
1. Remove the protective cap.
2. Clean the electrode with distilled water, and dry up the water attached to the electrode with filter paper.
3. Turn on the pH meter.
4. Insert the pH meter into the test solution, with the measuring electrode immersed in it.
5. Stir gently for a while to get the stable numerical result displayed on the screen.
6. Clean the electrode after use, then turn off the pH meter and put on the protective cap.

The pH scale
The values for pH make more sense when compared with that of known substances. Note that the pH scale is logarithmic and that each next value contains ten times fewer hydrogen ions. A pH=0 contains the most and is highly acidic.
