Acidic and alkaline reverse osmosis scale inhibitors are the two types of reverse osmosis antiscalant, also known as reverse osmosis scale inhibitors. Reverse osmosis scale inhibitors with an acidic pH can regulate the scaling of SiO2, BaSO4, CaF2, SrSO4, and CaCO3. They work especially well for scaling brought on by silicon, carbonates, sulfates, iron oxide precipitates, and metal oxides. They do not form insoluble polymers with leftover coagulants or silicon compounds containing iron or aluminum, and they have a high efficacy of scale inhibition.
In industries including alkaline water, high-salt water, process water, and drinking water, alkaline reverse osmosis scale inhibitors are extensively utilized. They are used to control scale deposition in membrane separation systems and lessen the chance of particle-induced membrane surface fouling. They also exhibit good scale inhibition effect in seawater desalination by membrane method.

Applications of Reverse Osmosis Antiscalant:
Dosage point:
It is recommended to put the reverse osmosis scale inhibitor before the mixer or security filter for optimal efficiency. To stop bacterial growth, the solution should be prepared and agitated for five to ten minutes. The dosing tank should also be cleaned on a regular basis.
Dosage: Each device's working conditions should be taken into consideration while determining the necessary dosage. To calculate the right dosage, consideration should be given to the salinity of the influent, temperature, recovery rate, type of reverse osmosis membrane, and other factors.
PO-100, PO-120, and PO-140 dosage recommendations range from 2 to 6 ppm.
2–5 ppm is the recommended dosage for PO-220 and PO-191.
PO-110 dose recommendations range from 0.3 to 3 ppm.
Dilution: Reverse osmosis scale inhibitors that are acidic or alkaline can be used straight away or diluted. Desalinated water or RO permeate should be used for dilution. For PO-100, PO-120, and PO-140, a dilution ratio of ten times is advised; it shouldn't go above twenty times.
For PO-220 and PO-191, a dilution ratio of 20 times is advised; it shouldn't go above 40 times.
PO-110 should be diluted 40 times, but it can also be diluted 8 times, in which case it can be made into a standard solution for usage and preparation.
